“ Did afternoon tea here and both the sweet and savoury treats were AMAZING. The owners were really nice and provided really great service to our party, and the prices were extremely reasonable for the quality of both the food and service. Will be coming back here! Thank you for the great afternoon! ”
“ Met the owners who are from Mauritius, food was great, we enjoyed it so much, will have to come back again and also for the eafternoon tea. The Napolitaine was melting in the mouth. ”
“ Bel-Air cafe is hands down the best cafe I’ve been to in a long time! They pride themselves on their Mauritius background and use the flavours from their country in the most beautiful way. I’ve been back the last two weeks in a row and I can confirm the customer service is excellent. The owner (or main guy) is truly passionate about his cafe. the first time I went I got a vanilla latte and some pastries. Not to sound dramatic, but It was one of the best vanilla lattes I’ve ever had. He told us that they are known for teas and not coffees, so I found that interesting. The next week I took my friend for high tea. I am a picky eater, but I would say every single thing we had was amazing. The flavours, the presentation , the teas the price, everything was 10/10. And the best part of all this is it’s all Halal!! I haven’t tried the food yet, but that’ll be my next visit. I can go on and on about this cafe, but you should go try it out for yourself! ”
“ i’ve been wanting to visit Cafe Bel-Air for sometime since hearing about their High Tea experience their Mauritian food! So for my sisters birthday I decided to take her and our parents for High Tea. i’d also like to say i don’t really make reviews for places so if i do make a review, its a great sign that i enjoyed! we were greeted upon entering by Avinash who showed us our reserved table already set for tea. the place smelled really nice and looked clean. it’s decorated by Mauritian art, trinkets, and books. He informed us on the menu and the types of tea to choose from, you can get unlimited tea. The desserts and snacks were amazing! I really loved all of them, my personal favourite is the Lemon poppyseed cake it wasn’t too sweet and super soft. I also loved the strawberry heart cookie! We even got 2 more dessert tarts and mauritian food to go and Avinash gave me 2 more on the house. Overall - You can tell the owner is very passionate about his restaurant, you can see it in the food they make to the service and atmosphere to even their posts on social media. My family and I had an amazing time and left with happy stomachs! More importantly, my sister thoroughly enjoyed her high tea experience that she’s always been wanting to have. My best friend is Mauritian and he’s told me that there’s only 3-4 restaurants in Canada that serve Mauritian cuisine so I will definitely hear again to try more Mauritian food. Businesses like these should always be supported, i highly recommended coming here and you will be taken care of ”
“ Amazing Mauritian restaurant in Edmonton!! We drove from Vancouver to visit and the warm welcome we received from Marie and Avinash was very touching! Such genuine, generous and caring people - highly recommended! ”
“ Fantastic spot for food, tea, and desserts with friends. The owner is super friendly and very helpful with recommendations and information about Mauritian cuisine. The food was all excellent. I ordered the special Mauritian fried noodles, which were served with garlic water and hot sauce (very spicy and soooo good) on the side, as well as a raspberry rose frangipane tart. Both dishes were delicious and really hit the spot. The service was also perfect, and the atmosphere was very “instagrammable”. I’ve been before and will definitely be back again. Next time I’d like to try the very affordable and cute looking high-tea which I saw so many other customers ordering. ”
“ If you are looking for a private, delicious, cozy and inexpensive place for afternoon tea, this is the place to go. The owners will personally serve you and talk to you like you’ve known each other long. Their teas and sandwiches were awesome, we tried the Mauritius vanilla tea (decaf), hibiscus tea and chai tea (it was my first time trying this and I was so amazed it was so good!). Plus if you have a special event you can also book this place without any extra fees, just pay the regular afternoon tea. There is parking in front of the cafe but since this is downtown expect that it will be a little tight. Wow worth a try, will come back for sure!! ”
“ We love coming to Cafe Bel Air! The owners are so kind and accommodating. We came once for afternoon tea and again for a bridal shower. Highly recommend booking their space for a private event! They set the table up so beautifully and were even able to accommodate a last minute change. The vanilla and earl grey teas were our favourites. ”
